$3.7M in GOTV software. Free, forever.
I wrote to you this week about the Supreme Court gutting the Voting Rights Act. Everyone has a role to play right now. Some groups will sue. Some will organize protests.
But because of supporters like you, we get to do something different: give away our best-in-class GOTV software to the organizations doing the necessary work of engaging voters.
VoteAmerica Plus has been free for a while now, but it wasn’t always. We built the platform over six years and invested over $3.7 million in it. We made it free in 2024 because it felt immoral to charge for voter turnout software during that election. That was supposed to be temporary and apply only to 501(c)(3)s.
What’s new is this: Free for everyone. Any values-aligned organization, permanently. No restrictions.
Here’s how it works: You fund the platform, we give it away, and organizations across the country use it to get voters to the polls.
More than 250 organizations are already using it. Our goal is to reach 1,000 this year — which means millions more voters will be reached, registered, and reminded to vote.
If your organization isn’t using VoteAmerica Plus yet, sign up today. If you’re a funder, tell your grantees. Every group doing voter engagement work should have these tools on their site, and now there’s no cost barrier to doing so.
The Supreme Court just made it harder to challenge voter suppression in court. Together, we’ll make voting easier anyway.
More soon,
Debra
